2026 Anticipated Adaptations of Our Favourite Romance Books!

2026 Anticipated Adaptations of Our Favourite Romance Books!

My evenings are best spent curled up on the sofa with a cup of tea with a good romance book. The plot, the characters, the escapism- reading truly feels like a movie in my head. Perhaps that is why I am counting down the days until these book adaptations are released! I always go in with an open-mind, remembering everything that made me love the book so much and of course, a cup of tea.

Off Campus Series

Potentially the most highly anticipated on this list, May 13th will see us welcomed into Briar University, with The Deal, a TV Show adaptation of the first book in Elle Kennedy’s Off Campus Series. Our two main leads are played by Ella Bright as Hannah Wells and Belmont Cameli as Garrett Graham.

The Deal follows Hannah Wells, a driven music major with a painful past, as she agrees to tutor arrogant, cocky and annoyingly handsome hockey captain Garrett Graham. In exchange, Garrett agrees to fake-date her to help her catch her crush’s attention. But as with all fake-dating arrangements, the pretending only lasts so long!

The Love Hypothesis

I hope everybody respects the giggly mess I will become when The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood’s movie adaptation is released. With a 2026 release by Amazon MGN, The Love Hypothesis features Lili Reinhart as Olive Smith and Tom Bateman as Dr Adam Carlsen.

Based at Stanford University, The Love Hypothesis charts the fake-dating to real relationship of Olive, an optimistic science Ph.D candidate and Adam, an infruriatingly grumpy professor. It’s grumpy x sunshine, spicy and downright hilarious and with Reinhart and Bateman at the helm, The Love Hypothesis is set to be a new favourite of mine!

Fun fact: The Love Hypothesis is actually Reylo fanfiction and Bateman is married to Daisy Ridley, the IRL Rey from Star Wars!

Verity

Perhaps I am using the term romance loosely here but the movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s standalone Verity is set to be full of tension, nail biting anxiety and moments where you have to pause and wondering what you are actually watching. With Anne Hathaway as Verity Crawford, Josh Hartnett as Jeremy Crawford and Dakota Johnson (aka my favourite woman ever) as Lowen Ashleigh, the cast is star-studded and the plot juicy.

Verity begins with Lowen being hired to finish a famous thriller series after the original writer, Verity, is left unable to complete her work. Living in the Crawford’s home, Lowen discovers a chilling, unpublished manuscript revealing disturbing secrets of the truth about Verity, her marriage to Jeremy (who Lowen cannot help but feel drawn towards) and the bizarre death of their two children.

Pride and Prejudice

My absolute favourite book, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, is receiving another adaptation in 2026. This time, by Netflix with Emma Corrin as determined Elizabeth Bennett and Jack Lowden as the beloved Mr Darcy.

Undoubtedly most of you will be familiar with the plot of Pride and Prejudice, but for those who desperately need to know… Pride and Prejudice follows Elizabeth Bennett as she navigates family pressures, societal expectations and her own sharp judgements (and at times stubbornness), all the while falling deeply in love with the proud Mr Darcy. The OG enemies to lovers, Pride and Prejudice is steeped in tension, drama and two people with too much pride (and prejudice) for their own good.

Will they be able to replicate the unfiltered joy I feel every time I rewatch the hand-flex scene? We shall see.

Every Summer After

Now this one is for the rom-com girlies! Every Summer After by Carley Fortune will be released on June 10th on Prime Video and will, hopefully, be the perfect remedy for our Off Campus hangovers. For this adaptation, our cast features Sadie Soverall as Percy Fraser whilst Matt Cornett is playing Sam Florek.

Percy returns to her childhood lake town, after more than a decade away, reuniting with Sam- her first best friend, her first love and the first heart she broke. Told across six summers, and one last weekend together, Every Summer After is an unforgettable second chance romance that promises to be just as emotional on screen.

So here is your list of some 2026 romance book adaptations! Which one are you counting down the days for? Or how many of the books do you have to read before their adaptation release? Quick…get reading!
