HEA Fest 2027
Are you ready for Europe’s largest romance book festival? It’s coming to Liverpool in a big way.
Tickets go on sale at 10am on 4 April 2026.
Imagine if a book signing and Glastonbury had a baby. That’s exactly what HEA Fest will be. A vibrant, book-filled celebration spread across two unforgettable days, bringing together readers, authors, and the wider romance community in one incredible space.
Across the weekend you can explore a huge book signing featuring over 400 authors who will be selling, chatting, and signing their books. There will also be diverse, lively panels and discussions throughout the day, showcasing a wide range of voices from across the publishing industry. The festival atmosphere continues beyond the signing hall with carnival stalls and games, a Ferris wheel, small fair rides, face and glitter painting, food trucks, and plenty of places to eat and relax. If you need a quieter moment, there will also be calm spaces where you can sit, recharge, and take a break from the buzz. At the heart of the festival you will also find a pop-up bookshop packed with romance reads.
As the evening arrives, the book signing may finish but the festival energy continues. Expect live music, drinks, and a relaxed evening atmosphere where readers and authors can keep the celebrations going together. For the first time ever, we are also offering optional two day camping right on Aintree Racecourse, turning the weekend into a full festival experience.
We have so many exciting plans in the works and we cannot wait to share them with you. 2027 is going to be epic.
Tickets go on sale at 10am on 4 April 2026 right here on the website. If you would like to connect with other readers and hear directly from attending authors, you can also join our Facebook group.
2027 General FAQ's
Where is the HEA Fest held?
The festival takes place at Aintree Racecourse, Liverpool UK.
The event will take place in purpose built structures on the centre of the Racecourse.
When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets will go on sale at 10am on 4 April 2026 directly on our website.
All ticket types will be available.
How many authors will be attending?
We expect over 400 romance authors to attend HEA Fest 2027. Author announcements will begin on 11 March, with new authors revealed regularly.
Our goal is to have at least 80% of the attending authors announced, including the day they will be appearing, before tickets go on sale. Additional authors will continue to be added to the lineup as we get closer to the festival.
Can I bring books from home to be signed?
Yes, you can bring books or other items such as a signature book to be signed at the event.
Will there be books available to buy at the event?
Yes. Many authors will have books available to purchase at their tables. There will also be a dedicated pop-up bookshop at the heart of the festival.
What does camping include?
Camping tickets include a pitch for your tent, which will be assigned to you on arrival. There will be washroom facilities available on site, including showers and toilets.
Campers will also have access to food and drinks available from our bookshop pop-up.
For safety reasons, open flames, fires and glass objects are not permitted in the camping area.
Can my friend sleep in my tent?
All attendees who wish to access the camping area must have a valid camping ticket.
You are welcome to share a tent with friends who are also camping, as long as each person has their own camping ticket. More details about tent pitch sizes and camping guidelines will be shared in the coming months.
Is the event accessible?
We aim to make HEA Fest as accessible as possible. The venue has accessible facilities, and we will share more detailed accessibility information closer to the event.
Most of the event will take place on grass. The large signing tent will have a solid, hard floor. To help with accessibility across the site, rubber pathways will be in place leading to all major areas of the event to support wheelchair access over the grass. However, we do recommend keeping this in mind when booking a ticket.
Are carer tickets available?
Yes, we will offer carer tickets.
Carer tickets are £15 and grant the carer access to all areas of the event alongside the guest so that they can assit and support the guest. Carer tickets are for people attending in a caregiver/assisting role only. Carer's should not purchase or have books signed on the day.
Only one carer ticket is required to cover weekend access.
It is the responsibility of the carer to remain with the guest throughout the event and assist them where needed.
Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are non refundable unless the event is cancelled.
Please check the ticket terms and conditions at the time of purchase for full details.
You can resell and transfer the ticket to another holder if needed.
Are children allowed at the event?
Children are not allowed at HEA Fest. This is an 18+ only event due to adult content and insurance requirements.
Can I leave and re-enter the festival?
Yes. Your wristband will allow re-entry so you can take breaks, visit nearby areas, or return to your accommodation during the day/evening.
