The Best Spring Romance Books for 2026

For me, spring always makes me realise how much I miss the sunshine. I convince myself that my favourite months are the cold ones, where staying in is the norm and there is no one around to distract me from my books. But the moment I hear the tweeting of birds, feel the sun on my face and even smell freshly mowed grass despite being a consistent hay-fever sufferer, I come alive.
Here are some spring time romance book recommendations for when you’re reading in your garden, having a picnic at the park or you’ve somehow ended up in the local beer garden with some time to kill.
Wild Love by Elsie Silver
To me, it simply wouldn’t be spring time without cowboys. It was a few springs ago I absolutely fell in love with Elsie Silver’s Chestnut Springs series and her Rose Hill series, beginning with Wild Love, delivers just as much cowboy charm. Maybe it is the small town ranch settings or maybe how easy they are to read, but one thing is for sure. If the sun is out, I’ll be there, cowboy book in hand.
All Ford Grant cares about is opening a recording studio far away from prying eyes of the press, until fatherhood is unexpectedly thrust upon him. City girl Rosie returns to Rose Hill, with her head held high, albeit a little chaotically, and manages to secure a job from the recently named World’s Hottest Billionaire, Ford. Though they both try to keep each other at arms length, desperate to avoid crossing the dreaded line, resisting temptation can only happen for so long.

The Summer Proposal by Vi Keeland
For those whose spring itch is satisfied by a sports romance, new release The Summer Proposal by Vi Keeland, is guaranteed to deliver a healthy mix of romcom and spice.
Desperate to forget her past relationship, Georgia goes on a blind date with a guy who happens to be the most gorgeous man she has ever laid eyes upon. They hit it off…until her actual date shows up. Turns out Max was pretending to be her date until her real date emerged, but he wouldn’t leave until he had given her a ticket to a hockey game. A hockey game Max happens to be playing in. He offers Georgia one summer to forget her ex and nothing could possibly happen when there’s an expiration date involved. Right?

Love Overboard by Kandi Steiner
Perhaps this is just a me thing, but as a lover of the TV Show Below Deck, the recent release of Love Overboard by Kandi Steiner is going to be so much fun! Not only does it promise to be the perfect read on a late spring evening (when it is still light at 8pm!) but also generate the perfect excitement for the coming summer days.
Set on the high seas, Ember is living her dream as a chief stew on a mediterranean superyacht and a star on a reality TV show based on her days at sea. That is until, Finn, the only man to have ever had, and broken her heart, as the chef in her crew. There is nowhere to go to escape one another and cameras watching their every move- but perhaps the weeks at sea is exactly what Ember and Finn need to realise their feelings.
Love Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood
Another of my favourite kind of books to read in the spring time are academic romances! Perhaps I’m yearning for the days when I was a student on campus, right before the summer break, but they always make me happy and guarantee a swoony, unforgettable romance. Love Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood absolutely delivers on a sexy and brainy romance.
Adjunct professor by day and fake girlfriend by night, Elsie Hannaway is only a few steps away from landing her dream job in the Physics department at MIT. Her only obstacle? Jack Smith, frustratingly attractive and the older brother of her favourite client, who rules over the department. Elsie is willing to do whatever it takes to secure the academic position of her dreams but will she be able to resist the call of her heart?

I hope these recommendations have inspired and made it onto your springtime TBR. All of these books are available on the HEA Bookshop website or TikTok Shop! Happy Reading!
