And A Partridge on Pear Street

Four cosy nights, three awkward days, two mourning siblings and a Partridge on Pear Street.

NEL
Losing both Mum and Dad this year has been tough and as much as I’d love to sit and wallow in my misery this Christmas, my brother has invited me to spend the holiday with him and his in-laws…and his best friend. I have been crushing on Jake Partridge since I was old enough to notice boys. He is everything I am not and the only one I’ve ever really wanted. Now I have to navigate holiday socialising and my brother’s perfect family, as well as sharing space with Jake and trying not to be a giant Christmas bauble of awkwardness.

JAKE
Nel Forrest has grown up. I’ve been following her on social media for years and know she is far from the shy and retiring schoolgirl I once knew. But seeing her now, surrounded by her brother and his family she seems to be back to the blushing beauty she was back then. I’m desperate to see the other side, the one she shows to the world, the one far more daring and seductive. My best friend’s little sister should be off limits, but spending so much time with her is making Nel the gift I want to unwrap this Christmas.

Two Purple Gloves

Four muddled gifts, three interrupting kids, two purple gloves, and a Christmas on Pear Street.

LISA
It’s been a busy year; a new baby making us a three-child house, sickness, work commitments, and everything else that comes with family life. After our daughter came into the world, my body didn’t recover as it had previously and now, I’m feeling anxious around my own husband, worried he’s going to resent the imperfections. I’ve planned the perfect gift that will hopefully help me feel desirable whilst getting Harry hot under the collar…but how was I supposed to know that everyone has the same damn wrapping paper and that someone would set mine under the tree?

HARRY
My wife has been the perfect woman for me since the day I met her, and I’ll continue to do everything I can to try and deserve her. Recently, Lisa has been quiet and distant, and I am determined to make things better. But after discovering I don’t always say the right things last Christmas, I don’t know how to bring this up with my wife. As it turns out, there’s something very particular Lisa needs from me, and I am more than happy to give it…if only we can get a moment alone.
