Dye my hair, get a tattoo, visit the Admont Abbey Library, and move to the countryside to open a book themed café.

These were all on my bucket list, or my “F*ck-It List,” as my bestie decided to call it. What wasn’t on my list; August Zelig, my sexy new neighbour.

When I drunkenly wrote my list, I absolutely did not plan on following through with all the sexy items my best friend added on my behalf. But when my hot new neighbour offers to help me cross some off, who am I to say no?

Moving has been scary, and hasn’t exactly gone to plan. But I’ve got my books, I’ve got my cat, and now, I think I have August too.

AUGUST

Port Doone runs on gossip and tourism, and I try to avoid both.

It’s not Bea’s fault she bought the shop across the road when I wanted it, but it doesn’t mean I have to be happy about it.

I wanted to hate her, but she’s too damned beautiful and sweet to resist. Especially in those skimpy little pyjamas and fluffy socks—my new weakness.

I don’t want to go down this road again, but Bea has some interesting items on that list of hers I’m dying to help her cross off. I can only hope ghosts from the past don’t come back to haunt me.
